Uncut Gems – ★ ★ ★ ★

This movie would have got 5 stars but was too anxiety-inducing. Sandler got us interested in his character immediately and leaving any of his comedy past behind. It kept Missy and me on the edge of our seat the entire time. It definitely lived up to the hype!

Notion – I have used Evernote and Bear for notes and collecting ideas, inspiration, etc. for a few years now. Evernote seemed feature-heavy and Bear was too simple. Then I stumbled upon Notion and LOVE it. I use it for writing personal daily journals, ideas, and notes for work, as well as my exercise regimen. Highly recommend.

This last year has been a wild ride, to say the least. Thankfully, it ended on a high note. Focused on my mental and physical health and started to cut back on my vices. Also, I hope to utilize this blog a bit more and start writing again. Heres to 2020 and the start of a hopefully kick-ass decade.

June 2019

I have been a fan of Bobby Hundred’s and his writing since the early 2000s. I vividly remember stumbling upon The Hundreds blog after moving out of my mom’s house. Captivating my attention and inspiring me to do the same. His new book “This Is Not a T-shirt” is a must read for anyone that has a love for the streetwear culture.

My wife Missy and I just launched our creative studio Bones Co. a couple of weeks ago. With that we are also doing a podcast to talk about marriage, parenting, running a business together, and more! Keep an eye out for awesomeness!

I just released the newest season of Great Goods last week. Some of my more favorite designs I’ve put out in a while. I appreciate all the support and already working on new stuff!

May 2019

I decided to start creating my own Spotify playlists. We shall see how long this lasts but at the moment it sounds like a fun idea. Check out Volume 1: Summer Jamz here.

I just deleted almost 10 years of Instagram posts. I can’t believe I’ve been using it for that long and crazy to see the progression of my life. Felt very invigorating to start fresh and clean up my digital life.

April 2019

In less than a year I am down 54 pounds and I am stoked on life! I’m also going on 12 days with not drinking alcohol and excited to see where I can take this. Life is good!

Nothing beats a morning with a hot cup of coffee and a Field Notes and pen.

I’ve been diving into SEO and trying to make the most of my workflow. Watching Skillshare videos have been a huge help to that. Signed up years ago but just started utilizing it to its full potential.

I’ve been intermittent fasting for just a little over a month now. Feeling energized and the best I’ve felt about myself in a long time. Definitely recommend it to anyone trying to lose weight. The app ZERO has been really helpful too as a reminder.

Missy and I read The 5 Love Languages a few months ago and CHANGED our lives. Our marriage and each other as individuals have grown so much after reading this book. I can not recommend this book more to anyone in a relationship. It is also great to learn more about yourself and what it is that keeps you going and feel loved. Check it out!

I’ve lost around 40 pounds in the last 8 months! With that, I’ve been focusing a lot on exercise and calorie counting. One app that I’ve found super helpful was LifeSum. Great UX/UI and the watch exercising integration is a game changer.

I just found out about humaaans.com and is just what I was looking for. A simple and versatile set up illustrations to help bring some life to the sites I’m working on. HIGHLY recommend and made it easy enough for me to build on custom elements.

Disgraceland – ★ ★ ★ ★

I have been using PocketCast for a couple of years now. One of the great features is the “Discover” section of podcasts based on my library. I just came across Disgraceland and LOVE it. Quick 25-45 minute episodes about alleged true crimes surrounding some of the biggest musicians in the world.

10 months since the last update?! Hoping to get on here and post a bit more. Plenty of things to share with the world. Hang tight!

May 2018

The weather is AMAZING here in Omaha. Glad to finally be able to work outside and enjoy the fresh air. Nothing better then Nebraska spring / summer.

March 2018

I’ve been listening to the podcast Atlanta Monster and then found out about the previous one Up & Vanished and obsessed. Went through 6 episodes last night alone.

Taking a road trip to Colorado to get tattooed and see an exhibit of my favorite artist, Cleon Peterson. Been inspired to take my photos and video. Let’s see if I remember to take more in the moment.

January 2018

The whole concept of a new year, new me has always been annoying to me. However, I have really been excited about what this year has in store for myself and the family. Been trying to live on the “Less talking, More doing” by joining a gym, working on personal projects I’ve been letting sit there, and just focus on whats important. Excited for what 2018 has in store!

Podcast:The Ride-★ ★ ★ ★

Anyone that knows me is aware of my obsession with Disneyworld and theme parks in general. I’ve recently started listening to a new podcast called… Podcast: The Ride. They talk about some of my favorite rides and tell you behind the scenes stories and how they came about. Highly recommend.

Omaha Talks

I know my last post was about Omaha Talks but I don’t care. This has become my new obsession and found an outlet to meet great people in our town and promote people/friends that are doing great things. Also, talking about childhood memories bring up what I love about some of my other favorite podcasts.

I have a podcast!

My good friend Parker and I have started a podcast called Omaha Talks. We sit down with influential and interesting people from Omaha with a story to tell. You can check out some of our episodes here.

My Favorite Murder – ★ ★ ★

I have a love for true crime podcasts. Been listening to a lot of My Favorite Murder over the last couple of weeks. I love it… Only thing is they take a good 45 mins to an hour to get into the reasoning behind the podcast. Still great great.

Well… The last couple of months have been crazy. Good crazy but ready to get back into posting. Heading to Colorado tomorrow so a blog post and notes to come!

Ready Player One

I just bought the book and hoping to find the time to get some reading in. Watching the trailer and being such a big fan of pop culture and especially 80s pop culture. This is going to be an epic movie!

Also… Steven Spielberg

June 2017

Just got back from a week in NYC. It was a great but exhausting trip. Midwest is best!

Heading out to New York for the 99u Conference.

Things 3 is back! It was definitely worth the wait!

April 2017

Got around to putting together my office. Can’t wait to finally have a place to work!

Taking a much needed vacation to Disneyworld.

Workflow is a game changer!

Apple recently acquired them and can’t wait to see what they do with it. Taking automation to a whole new level.

After 6 months I am finally setting up my office. Looking forward to having a place to get away and get work done. The dining room table and bedroom just isn’t cutting it lately.

Currently reading Creativity Inc.

Kendrick at it again….

StrangeWays NYC

I have a decent collection of The Smith’s and Morrisey t-shirts. But StrangeWays is now the only place I’m going to go. Printing awesome variations of vintage tour shirts and stuff you won’t be able to find anywhere else. Also, the quality of the t-shirts are top notch.

S Town ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I’ve been a big fan of podcasts for 10 years now. Listening to a little bit of everything when it comes to genre. For the first time in a long time I can’t stop listening to S Town. I can’t say much without giving away the story but highly recommend you give it a listen.

Only 10 more days before I go to Disneyworld. Can’t get here soon enough!

This will be my first time there without the family. Excited to explore and enjoy it at my own pace.
